When installing the Travel Add-in for Outlook it will be integrated into your Outlook calendars.
When you open a new or existing appointment you will notice the new toolbar on top of the window name "Travel"
Schedule travel times
To schedule a travel and/or return time manually select a duration from the drop down field.
After a duration has been selected, an additional field will appear on the right to allow you to
select the means of transportation, e.g. Car or Walking.
Use estimated travel times
To get most out of the Travel Add-in enter a location for the appointment use the "Use estimated" button. It'll
automatically get the estimated travel times for using the car, bicycle or walking to the location. With a single button
the add-in will set travel times and transportation method plus the calculate distance.
Calendar view
The Travel Add-in will create new items in the calendar to represent the travel and return times you chose in the
appointment. These items also show the selected means of transportation and location travelling to.
When moving the appointment in the calendar view or changing it's duration, the travel and return items will stay before
and after the appointment automatically.
Create Expense reports
Filling out a travel expense report has just become much easier: Use the "Create expense report"
button in your calendar or in an open appointment to generate an Excel file with all the required information automatically.
Custom Excel templates
The Excel template file can be fully adapted to your company specific template. It can include most fields from the Outlook
appointment and travel information, including date, subject, location, transportation, duration, distance (miles or kilometers) and more...
Options and more options
The Travel Add-in can be customized to the most common user scenarios with different default values, transportation methods
and custom location and subject texts.
The add-in also has built-in international support. The user interface has already been localized to English, German and Dutch.
