2021 HAIR RESOLUTIONS

Posted by InStyler Shopify on

A new year, a new time to rest and recover - and for some of us - a time to set new goals and resolutions for the new year. The meaning of self care completely shifted this year as we embarked into unchartered territory, and while it might feel silly, these small things we do for ourselves are so important. If you need some inspiration for new self-care ventures in 2021, we've rounded up some great hair resolutions!

1. GET REGULAR HAIRCUTS
In 2021 we look forward to haircuts! Regular haircuts keep your hair healthy and strong, and less prone to breakage. Additionally, your hair can actually grow faster when you get more haircuts. Stylists recommend every three-four weeks for short hair, every three to four times a year for medium length hair, and every two months for long hair.

2. USE HEALTHIER HEAT
Digitally regulated temperature control ensures that the heat stays consistent the entire time of your styling, resulting in less damage and breakage. The InStyler range includes digital temperature control and its one of the reasons your hair won't see as much breakage when you use our tools.

3. USE HEAT PROTECTANT
An additional layer of support for your hair is to use a heat protectant prior to using any hot tools. The PRIME Spray is a great one to use before your blowouts!

4. AVOID BOX DYE
We understand desperate times call for desperate measures - but when it comes to hair coloring, always best to leave it to a pro. Try to hold out until it's safe to see a hairstylist to ensure you're getting the best color and treatment.

5. PROTECT YOUR HAIR UP AT NIGHT
There are a few different ways to wake up with silky sleek hair that is less prone to damage and breakage. Try wrapping your hair up in a silk bonnet or using a silk pillowcase - your hair health can improve dramatically and you'll see less frizz and breakage, and more shine and long-lasting styles!

6. USE LOW TENSION HAIRSTYLES
Try to avoid, or use only on special occasion, hairstyles that pull your scalp tightly and apply significant tension. This can include tight extensions, high ponies, and more. These can lead to hair loss and slow hair growth. An easy tip: if it hurts, it's probably not the best for your hair.
